Execution of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Safe Ecosystem Foundation, Core Contributors GmbH and Gnosis Ltd. regarding closer collaboration

On March 3, 2025, the Safe Ecosystem Foundation (“Foundation”), Core Contributors GmbH, and Gnosis Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) regarding a proposed comprehensive collaboration to manage the aftermath of the Lazarus attack discovered on February 21, 2025 (“Lazarus Attack”). 

Appointment of Martin Köppelmann as advisor to the Foundation

The Foundation has appointed Martin Köppelmann as an advisor. As the co-founder and CEO of Gnosis Ltd., Martin Köppelmann brings extensive experience in blockchain technology, self-custody, and decentralized finance, and he will help the Foundation with various strategic matters to address the ramifications of the Lazarus Attack.

Potential adaption of the Foundation Council’s Governance

The Foundation Council is currently assessing modifications to its governance structure to enhance the Foundation's operational efficiency and effectiveness, particularly in light of the closer collaboration with Gnosis Ltd. These changes will likely involve personnel adjustments and revisions to the Foundation Council’s overall governance rules. 

Preliminary external report confirms preliminary internal technical investigation

A preliminary report from a reputable external security audit firm has confirmed the initial findings from the investigation into the Lazarus Attack, which Core Contributors GmbH had published earlier.
